My expectation about Bodh Gaya fell far short of expectation. A world heritage site where so many people even foreigners visit should have been much much cleaner with proper crowd management mechanism.
People visit Gaya for religious purpose. Authorities should remember God lives in cleaner places. Gaya is unbelievably dirty chaotic, traffic is atrocious . I didnt like the place.
If I had better option for pindadaan I would rather go to that place than Gaya.
I will not recommend my children or any one to go to Gaya for pindadaan.
A place of such importance for Hinduism should have been much better.
Gaya gives a very bad and wrong image of traditional India. I am ashamed that this place is visited by foreigners who get a wrong idea about India.

I suggest spending a day in Bodhgaya (close to Gaya) if you're travelling around North India. It is not very touristic, so it can give you another perspective of the country and it is also a "wind of fresh air" after visiting indu temples and mosques: here you can find dozens of buddhist temples, all in the same place! Of course the Mahabodhi Temple is the cherry on top of the cake, we liked it a lot.

People are very honest, diligent and sincere.
People are very honest, diligent and sincere. They are poor yet dependable. Most unhygienic, poor-quality food. The state government has utterly failed in maintaining the sanctity of the holy places.
The monastery and temples are very well and beautifully maintained.
The poverty and illiteracy of the poor people is very well exploited by the successive state governments.

First select a room not by the rating & offers provided in booking.com, if I viewed the review of that hotel in google. I wouldn't have booked it. Pls book a decent hotel while traveling to other States (Book hotels really have all amenities don't get cheated by false offers in booking.com). Money is not important peace of mind is important. If you feel you re being cheated, you can't enjoy the trip.
Nice hotel, big rooms, good support from helpful staffs, room service, breakfast. Everything supposes to be perfect and I should have given 10/10, but given 8 for a reason.
We 3 are Sr Citizen aged between 72 to 79 years and arrived from Kolkata by Rajdhani express at 11:00 pm at night at Gaya Railway station. They had sent a person to receive us from station and escorted till hotel. Also helped us to make arrangement of Budhdha Gaya trip. Everything was good except day 1 hick ups.

Very kind host couple.

The owners are very nice polite and helpful and his vision is amazing to see his business grow.
All the best
Resort is still under construction, not all amenities are open. Resort is on a highway, close to airport, far away from Gaya and Bodha Gaya. Transportation a difficult one. Great place for wedding and closed conference etc. Great Garden
Property owner was cooperative, even my booking was cancelled by him due to overcome discount price ad by Booking.com and Oyo. But he was not honest of his new business in Hotel and lot has to improve in the hotel room amenities.
Excellent Service and well behaved staff and team. I really enjoyed by hotel in all aspects. I prefer to visit again. Housekeeping is very nice. Food quality is excellent 👌👌👌👌
Nice breakfast (omlette / indian + tea), nice guy the owner, rooms clean, bathroom clean and funky, tuktuks to Bodhgaya leave from just outside the hostel.
