The inn is as elegant and beautiful as an Oriental fairytale, but what impressed me the most is the service. The dignified manner, the politeness and the hospitality of the staff who treat you as a dear guest in their country is something I have not experienced for years. They are there for you 24 hours.
The location turned out perfect. From my room (#8, second floor, spotless, two French windows, electric fireplace, large well-designed shower) I could see the Maiden tower and the Caspian on the horizon (all I dreamed about). The view from the restaurant (open 24 hours) - on the terrace on top - is breathtaking. At breakfast (delicious, made to order) you watch the rooftops of the city slowly waking up and at night you are as if soaring over the city lights of the Baku Bay. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet, with some live music playing. After a day of walking, I came up just for a pot of local tea and dessert and it was amazing.
I would like to thank all the staff for this wonderful experience. I would definitely come back.
Some possibly useful details. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport. If you install the Bolt app, it's 7 manat. I just took a taxi for 30 manat (beautiful drive). A 7 minute walk takes you down to the water - to the Baku boulevard. Nizami street with busy night life and restaurants is 5 minutes away. The location is quiet on one hand, but on the other hand it's not dark or remote to be scary at night. The entrance is well lit and opens to a square with a historic monument. It felt really safe.
Set in the Sabayil district of Baku, SBH is 900 metres from Maiden Tower. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a restaurant.

The location is the highlight of this hotel, very central in the pedestrian zone just next to a park with some children playgrounds. The hotel is nice and convenient. There's a WiFi. The beds are comfortable. Our family room was large with two rooms and nice view. The breakfast is not bad, but starts only from 08:00 so we missed it on the last day. There were some little issues here and there but it's all overweighed by the location. I would definitely come back and I can recommend the hotel.

A very vibrant city with a rich history.
A very vibrant city with a rich history. The Old City is such a piece of art. The traffic is a bit pain and to get around to near by areas its recommended to walk rather than hailing a cab. To feel and absorb the real beauty of the city can only be done on the long walks this city deserves. The overall city is extremely safe. The food has a lot of variety but its definitely not among the best in the world.

Basically they need to learn how to treat tourist, stop their stupid scaming which ruins the whole experience of Baku.
Its beautiful but a small city, had been enough with just 4 days. The cultural food is not a big deal so dont visit because of the food! Be careful with the hotels showing you updated pictures that does not match with reality! specially breakfast items.

4 nights in Baku seemed just right.
4 nights in Baku seemed just right. The city has lots of surprises. Once I got there, I understood why the city has been described as the "lovechild of Paris and Dubai." It is full off amazing contrasts. It is an elegant city in parts, and quite futuristic in others. Some of the modern architecture is extrordinary. Prices are low and food is awesome. I'm really glad that I chose to call in on Baku.

First of all the weather was soo lovely on April with temperature of 20 in the morning and 16 in the evening.
Baku is a lively city.. Nizami Street is full of energy from morning till next day morning.. There are many places to visit such as malls, gardens, museums.. From my point of view spending 2 to 3 days in baku are enough..
There are many restaurants such as Indian, Korean, japanies, Italian and many other along with the traditional food of Azerbaijan. Visiting the other cities such as Guba, Qabala, Shiki, Shahdag.. Spending one day in each city is enough.
The transportation in Baku is very easy.. With an application called ( Bolt) you can go every where with very low cost.
The visa card is accepted every where.. It's more safe than caring cash.
I advised the travelers to choose a hotel near Nizami street because it's very close to all the needed spots.

Upon my recent visit to Baku, I was utterly captivated by its beauty, which far exceeded my expectations. The city presents a unique blend of ancient architecture and modern developments that coexist harmoniously along the Caspian Sea's shores. From the medieval walled city of Icheri Sheher with its historical landmarks such as the Maiden Tower and Palace of the Shirvanshahs to the contemporary Flame Towers that adorn the skyline, Baku's aesthetic appeal is undeniable. The meticulously maintained parks and the long promenade offer locals and tourists alike an opportunity to bask in the city's natural charm, which is further enhanced by its vibrant cultural scene. Every turn within this dynamic urban landscape revealed unexpected delights, leaving me with an enduring impression of Baku as not just a bustling metropolis but also a hub of cultural wealth and stunning vistas.
Really elegant boutique hotel right in the heart of downtown Baku, with a feel of grandness to it. The staff were helpful on check in and helped me sort out a very early morning taxi when I left, which was cheaper than I had expected. The room was a good size, with the small elegance as the rest of the hotel and the whole place was very clean. The absolute best bit was the rooftop restaurant for breakfast though, with hanging plants, singing birds and great views of the Flame Towers and the city roofs. That was amazing on sunny days!
Centrally located, 0.5 km from the old town Baku. Alvin was an exceptionally superb host. Very friendly and gave me some excellent tips on restaurants and food. Nighat was also very friendly and helpful. Arranged for cab service back to the airport. Very sweet person. The room was as good as any 5 star hotel. Bathroom was well equipped and very clean. I had my morning coffee sitting on the patio every morning. If I come back to Baku, this would be my home away from home.
Staff were more than friendly and helpful.. always smiling and polite .. they also provided us with all information needed and helped us getting a taxi back to the airport on time - location is perfect. Close to nizami st and to baku old city - 2 mins walk from supermarket and 24/7 bank were you can exchange currency with good rate - for smokers there is a terrace for smoking on the same floor so you dont have to go all the way down to hotel entrance -wifi was good
I stayed in four different hotels in Baku and this was my favourite. The apartment is large, very clean and with a very comfortable bed. There is also a washer/dryer in the kitchen, which is really convenient. Location is exceptional, in the city centre of Baku and 2 minutes walk from Sahil metro. Finally, the owner of the apartment is really kind, responsive and easy to communicate with. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in Baku!
Hotel situated in city centre Nizami street.
Very nice hotel with pretty personal. If you are first time in Baku you just approach hotel personal they can help you everything. Rooms are large, clean and lightly. Near by the hotel boulevard sea, old city, maidan tower, restaurants, museums, little Venice, parks you just need walking that's all.
Thanks for everyone to hotel personal hope we meet again my dears.
The man with the glasses (forgot his name) at the reception desk was awesome. Apart from the wonderful room I got and the sea view, the treatment at this hotel was the best part of it. I'm definitely coming back to this hotel. One more thing, good and affordable restaurants are just walking distance, as well as the Old City and the Caspian Sea. The metro station is a 2-minute walk away from the hotel.
The merchant Baku located in the TOP location. 3 mins walking to old city, restaurant is located on Torgovaya. Nice breakfast, room is very big, very nice big and clean shower.
Very friendly team ( both in the hotel and restaurant).
Amazing food and service.
I would highly recommend The merchant Baku. It is my second stay and most probably will stay there next year during expo again.
This hotel was even better than what seems to be on Booking. Staff was very welcoming, services were amazing and the position is perfect, very close to the Old City and also close to the Promenade that makes the perfect spot to visit Baku both for pleasure or work. The rooms are clean, fully equipped and the laundry service is formidable. Highly recommended! I will surely turn back soon.
One of the best Hotels, if not the best Hotel in which one might stay in the Old City in Baku. The facility is simply great. Very friendly and welcoming Staff at the Reception Desk. Super smooth support in getting pick-up/drop-off movement to the airport very early in the morning. Really tasty and nice breakfast. Very nice Spa, one of the best selling points! Definitely recommend.
This hotel is one of the fewest hotels that really have a good experience staying in. I stayed in many hotels in Baku and Dinamo Hotel surely is the best one in the city. A luxurious experience with friendly and helpful staff. I loved the story of the hotel and how they turn it into a hotel with keeping the feelings of its history. Thanks to the Dinamo team and see you next time!
Beautiful hotel and helpful staff. An ideal place for family. Good breakfast. My family loved it.
Also the room had an amazing view to the city.
Overall a good choice at Baku. The hotel did make our stay at Baku much more memorable.
Taxi's are accessable in front of the hotel and staff are eager to help. Just 4 kms to city centre.
I visit Baku several times a year. GM city is on of the hotels whit the best quality/price combination. Even thats the location is not in the center but it takes only 5-10 minutes to go to the center. Other things are perfect. For me cleanliness of the room is the most important factor and in this sphere everything was totally cool.
I loved how city center this hotel was, legit a lot of stuff were basically walking distance from me, I would certainly come back to this hotel, if I do come back to Baku. Also, the hotel staff probably has one of the best hospitality that I have ever experienced out of any place that I’ve been to so far, no exaggeration.
One of the best hotels at baku. We stayed for 6 nights and it was perfect experience. The staff for reception, room service and restaurant are so kind and professional, food & breakfast are delicious and it’s worth to try it. Room service is prefect and they take immediate actions. Rate is 10/10 and we will comeback ♥️
This hotel is inside old city area. It is very close to all sightseeing places of Baku. The room was with balcony, very neat and clean. Breakfast is OK. They serve Continental breakfast. I was expecting more traditional breakfast. Staff was friendly. Most importantly they serve free water bottles as much as you need.
its very rare that u stay in a hotel, and u have not even a tiny bad experience, our stay in intercontinental baku was amazing, we really felt at home and we were so sad to leave the friendly staff and the beautiful city. when we come to baku next, we are certainly staying here again, wish them best of luck.
The staff were very helpful. Our first night we were tired so the receptionist ordered food in for us. The breakfast was excellent. Lots of variety. If looking for a budget hotel with no frills, where distance from city centre is not an issue this hotel is perfect.
Unbeatable location (inside Nizami street), walkable distance to most of the popular destinations inside Baku city. Live at night. Hotel and location is safe for a family. Breakfast was okay. Value for money.
