Breakfast was lovely, plenty of selection. Room was lovely, although the air conditioning did not seem to make it much cooler. It would be nice to be able to open the portholes! Location was the only drawback. Although we enjoyed taking a water taxi, it would have been nicer to have been in a slightly closer location to the main centre. Staff were extraordinarily friendly and welcoming.

For those who like watching the hustle and bustle of the shipping on the river, it is ideal, as it has a large bar and restaurant with a terrace facing the river. It is quite close to the Metro station with access to Rotterdam centre in about 20 mins. Forget taxis as they are alsmost non-existant. It is a reasonably long walk into town but there is a regular bus service. The tram station is about 8-10 mins walk away with trams running to central Rotterdam about every 15 mins and to other commuter towns down the Waterway to the Hoek van Holland. However, they don't take cash - credit cards only. The view from the lounge, bar and rsstaurant areas is an ever changing panorama of ships both big and small passing close by the windows. Vlaardingen is a typical Dutch Town with plenty of Bars and Restaurants. The vicinity to the River Maas is just perfect for shipping lovers. Now that it is part of the Rotterdam Metro System it has fast and efficient connections to the City and the Hook of Holland so plenty to explore and enjoy.

Vlaardingen is very close to both Delft and Rotterdam, and provides a nice landing spot away from the more touristy towns. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here, a little off of the beaten path, to have access to the whole region!

The room and corridors with carpets were not the best quality, some dirty on the floor, stains in carpets, old carpet smell. In addition the heating was not functioning properly, toilet radiator (electric heating) did not function, as well as air source heat pump. It was also surprise that shrew (small mouse) was running in the lobby, and little fox outside in the parking area. Generally I am happy staying in your hotel. The breakfast was really good, it would have been nice to see some variety between days as it was the same breakfast items throughout our 5 day stay. The location is also very accessible, with the motorway less than 5 minutes drive away and the train station 10 minutes walk, it was easy to get in and out of Rotterdam from the hotel.

I had to leave at 5 am and kindly reception lady made me a coffee and gave me a croissant because I had long journey ahead and no chance of hotel breakfast. Very good staff, friendly and thoughtful.
